Xamoudochori opens its arms on August 20th, at 9:00 in the evening, and invites you to its grand celebration —
THE FESTIVAL OF THE GRAPE
This is not merely a feast;
it is memory, it is root, it is reconnection.
There, the violin of Antonis Martakis will echo through the night,
as we honor the raisin, the grape,
the soul and essence of Xamoudochori.
The air will be filled with the aroma of festive pilaf —
prepared with unmatched skill and care —
sweet kalitsounia lovingly made by the women of the village association,
and as always, raki and wine will flow
like a blessing upon us all.
The Cultural Association of Xamoudochori,
alongside all the villagers,
await you with open hearts,
ready to welcome you just like the old days.
This beloved celebration began many years ago,
always just after the 15th of August,
when friends and relatives would return to the village
from every corner of the world.
We created this joyful gathering
to embrace each other anew,
to keep our memories alive,
to keep the spirit of the village united and strong.
